Publication policy

Methodology

WildVerdict combines owner-review statistics from manufacturers and retailers without republishing individual reviews or reviewer data.

Sources and identity

We combine owner reviews from manufacturers and retailers. Listings join only when manufacturer identifiers or other explicit product evidence support the match. Where sources pool revisions, the page is labeled model-family evidence.

Counting and ratings

Counts use canonical, active owner reviews after exact duplicate removal and publication exclusions. Ratings are normalized to a five-point scale. Source and product averages are WildVerdict cross-source editorial aggregates, not merchant first-party ratings.

Verdicts and themes

Products are published only after all eligible owner reviews have been processed into a current summary with at least one recurring finding. Processing requires at least 10 canonical owner reviews. Common findings need at least five owners and 5% of reviews; minority findings need at least ten owners and 1%. Positive and negative findings qualify separately. Products with insufficient recurring evidence or a summary awaiting an update stay offline. Theme percentages use all eligible reviews as their denominator.

How we compare jackets

Comparisons combine qualifying owner findings with technical facts checked on the manufacturers’ websites. Manufacturer specifications take precedence over conflicting retailer data. They describe the version checked, while owner evidence may span multiple revisions. Listed weights may vary with size.

Mention percentages describe collected owner feedback, not failure rates or results from a controlled test. A review that does not mention a problem is not evidence that the problem is absent. We have not physically tested these jackets.

Recommendations consider features, recurring strengths and recurring drawbacks for different needs. They are not rankings by average star rating. Articles are drafted with AI assistance from the existing review analysis and checked manufacturer specifications.

Privacy boundary

Public pages contain product-level and source-level aggregates only. Review prose, titles, review identifiers, reviewer metadata, hashes, review URLs, and per-review provenance remain private.

Freshness

Product pages show the latest included ingestion date and whether evidence spans multiple revisions. This proof is a fixed snapshot, not a claim of live price or review coverage.
