Dynafit Alpine GORE-TEX vs Odlo X-Alp

By WildVerdict · Published · Updated

Choose Dynafit Alpine GORE-TEX if you want a waterproof jacket that can expand over a running pack. Choose Odlo X-Alp if its stretch fabric and adjustable running hood better match your setup. The manufacturer-listed weights are 247 g and 231 g, with X-Alp specified in size L.

Based on 117 included owner reviews.

The differences that matter

Dynafit’s distinguishing feature is the long back zip that expands the shell over a running pack. It also lists underarm ventilation and hood storage. That is a different wearing arrangement from simply sizing up a conventional jacket, so test it with the pack and load you actually carry.

X-Alp uses seam-sealed 2.5-layer waterproof construction and a recycled polyester stretch main fabric. Dynafit uses GORE-TEX PACLITE. The small listed weight gap is not a controlled same-size comparison, and the different membrane names do not establish which feels better during your own runs.
