Millet Kamet GORE-TEX vs Seneca GORE-TEX 2L

By WildVerdict · Published · Updated

Choose Kamet GORE-TEX for its helmet-compatible mountaineering hood and articulated elbows. Choose Seneca GORE-TEX 2L if a mesh-lined hiking layout and hand pockets suit you better. Millet lists these current versions at 432 g and 465 g.

Based on 54 included owner reviews.

The differences that matter

The Kamet uses a recycled polyamide outer and a climbing-oriented hood. The Seneca uses two-layer GORE-TEX ePE with recycled polyester and a mesh lining. They share the GORE-TEX name, but the interior construction and pocket layout are useful differences to examine in person.

Both have underarm vents. The Seneca adds two zipped hand pockets and an internal chest pocket, while its adjustable hood has a visor. The 33 g listed weight difference is secondary to whether the hood works with your headwear and the lining moves comfortably over your midlayer.
